REVIEWS
A companion EP [to Places], Awake Somewhere, excavates earlier sketches—rain-soaked field recordings and gauzy textures reconfigured into rhythmic introspection. Together, they articulate a poetics of decay and endurance, a quiet exorcism in tape hiss and reverb.
Son Of Marketing
Perlah follows Places with Awake Somewhere, a collection of earlier pieces shaped during a spring spent in Berlin. Much of the EP grew from rainy walks, where field recordings and found sounds were gathered and later reworked in Gustav Kemps’ home studio. These fragments underpin his guitar and hushed vocals, with rhythmic layers slowly rising and folding back into the mix. It’s a quietly detailed set that sits between lo-fi folk, ambient drift and subtle percussive experimentation.
