ABOUT Formed in late 2006, The Remains Of My Estate (Trome Records) is an independent label currently based in London, UK. Releases include the debut album by acclaimed minimalist US composer Duane Pitre, and both albums by the now-legendary and sadly dis-banded Scottish lo-fi band Small Town Boredom. After a lengthy hiatus the label has resumed activity in 2014 with a debut vinyl release by Rivulets.
LABEL ETHOS Trome operates as a non-profit venture with the aim to release high quality, beautiful documents of intangible artworks. It functions primarily as an artistic endeavour in close collaboration with its artists, and is therefore not bound by any specific business pattern or release schedule. The same attention to detail given to realising each record goes into selecting which records to release, which is why years can go by between editions. In other words, the label's focus is on artworks rather than culture.
ARTWORK/PACKAGING Great care is taken with release artwork, which has featured acclaimed visual artists and photographers. Packaging is also high quality, without compromising our environmental and economic values. Trome strives to make beautiful objects as well as maintain fair prices on all its products.
DEMO POLICY/RELEASE CRITERIA Label releases cross different genres of experimental music, and we are open to accepting and releasing new forms. Each recording is distinct, yet contributes in a certain way to the specific sensibilities of the label; generally we like slow, introverted, quiet, sublime music and art. Above all, we are interested only in artwork that is authentic.
Please note that Trome is not accepting demos at present. However if you would like to share your work with the label please feel free to contact us.
